The push was highlighted during a visit by a Rwandan delegation led by Fidelis Mironko, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MINAFFET), to several institutions in Kenya.
The delegation visited the Kenya School of Government (KSG), the National Defence College (NDC) and the Kenya Foreign Service Academy, exploring areas where the two countries can share knowledge and experience.
At KSG, the Rwandan officials reviewed progress on a cooperation agreement between the school and Rwanda Management Institute (RMI).
The agreement is intended to support the exchange of knowledge and expertise, professional training and capacity building for government employees in the two countries.
KSG Director Professor Nura Mohamed said the institution helps public servants develop the skills they need to respond to citizens’ needs and improve the quality of public services.
The Rwandan delegation also visited Kenya’s National Defence College in Karen, where it was received by the college’s commandant, Lt. Gen. Juma Mwinyikai.
Mwinyikai introduced the delegation to the college’s work, including its academic programmes and its role in preparing senior military officers for leadership responsibilities.
For Rwanda and Kenya, the institutional exchanges provide an opportunity for officials and professionals to learn from each other while strengthening cooperation in areas ranging from public administration and leadership to diplomacy and security.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to build closer links between institutions in the two countries and create more opportunities for sharing skills and experience.
