Former drinkers in Rwanda regain strength, livelihoods after alcohol crackdown
HUYE, Rwanda — For Nsabimana Claver, mornings once began at a bar rather than at work. He would wake up, head straight for a drink known locally as “ibyuma”, and often spend the rest of the day drinking. By the time he returned home at night, he had earned nothing and sometimes caused problems for his family.
Rwanda political forum appoints Gasamagera to Senate
Rwanda’s National Consultative Forum of Political Organizations (NFPO) has appointed Ambassador Wellars Gasamagera to represent the forum in the Senate, following the death of Senator Donatilla Mukabalisa in July.
