Big Herd, Low Milk: Nyagatare’s Challenge

NYAGATARE, Rwanda — Rwanda’s Nyagatare district has more than 215,000 cattle, the largest herd in the country, but only about 30% are producing milk, leaving farmers struggling to make their livestock businesses profitable, a district official said.
